Choies!

Hey guys,

Recently I was browsing through my youtube account and I was looking at Dina Tokio's videos and she styled the two most amazing blazers I had seen.

I was so interested in the website in which these two blazers came from that I decided to check it out.

And behold, I was introduced to Choies.com - an online fashion store which is stocked weekly with stylish designs that will refresh your wardrobe and your mind as well.

The name: I think it is safe to say that the name of the website is the winner here. As a person, you have your choice to say yes hence the name Choies. Regardless of whether it is fashion related or in general life, just remember that the power is in your hands!

They also have a very big catalogue filled with clothing pieces for both men and women, shoes, makeup and accessories so there is something for everyone. Another thing which is great about this website is that they ship internationally so no matter where you are geographically located, you can still buy these pieces.

I have browsed through this website countless times and I thought I would share with you my favourite items down below.

Also, I thought I would mention that I love all kinds of prints so I apologise in advance if the majority of items below are printed pieces of clothing.

Have a nice day or evening wherever you are in the world.

Sheinside

Hey guys,

So I know what you must be thinking - what is Sheinside, right?

Well, Sheinside is an online clothing store that is based in China and has been around for about five years. It helps fashion conscious women look fabulous all over the world!

I've had my eye on this website for a while now as it is very popular amongst those on Youtube and Facebook. I think I can understand the hype as everyday new items of clothing are added onto the website and classed under a "Daily New" tab so that it is easy to access and browse through their endless catalogue.

Also, I love the fact that they offer women like myself a chance to design an item of clothes - this is wicked because it allows you to be a fashion designer for a day. And get this, if the Sheinside Team like your design, they make a sample piece (yes, you heard me). They make your design a reality!

Then comes what is called a "Sheinsider Design Presale" - this means that customers can actually buy something that you have designed.  The items of clothing are often reduced as well - as low as 50% - as there are only a limited number of them.

And if it reaches an outstanding amount of votes, then the creator/designer is rewarded. Amazing, right?

Below are a few of my favourite items from the website.  Make sure you check it out because there are some awesome pieces of clothing on it!

Have a nice day.

REVIEW: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Hello everyone,

So I thought I'd add something extra to this blog and it is reviews of books that I've read or am currently reading. I love reading - there are days when I start reading something and because I get hooked onto the storyline, I can't put it down which results in no sleep.

Very bad, I know but it's a habit that I can't break.

"I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once."

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

What I can say about this book is that although it seems like an easy read, it questions things that normally would not be mentioned in the open. It has the power to surprise, make you laugh out loud and cry all at the same time.

I was recommended this book by many people - from cousins to school friends - and I am the kind of person who if someone tells me to read something, I can't but if I pick it up on my own accord, I have no problem whatsoever.

This book was different though because the initial idea of two cancer sufferers was already interesting as it is and I can safely say that this was a lovely book to read. I am glad that I gave it a chance because I know that I would have regretted it if I hadn't.

The Fault In Our Stars is actually in the midst of becoming a movie which is said to be released in cinemas in 2014 so I would highly highly recommend reading this.

Let me know your thoughts on this book if you have read it or any other books that you're currently loving.

Have a nice day/evening.

Nadia x

Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort are set to play Hazel & Gus in the movie.

I'm a prefect!

Hi guys,

So as the title suggests, I am a prefect!

Now, you might already be familiar with the concept of prefects but for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it is basically a group of girls who are "role models" to the rest of the school and sixth form.

We also take aboard any concerns, suggestions or recommendations that students may have about the school and we are their representatives.

I don't know why, and this might sound very geeky to you, but I am actually really chuffed that I got chosen out of the many girls that applied.

It gives me the chance to gain some leadership skills, get to know more people in my year.

Plus, I can write about it in my personal statement so in my eyes it's a win win situation :)

Although I did want to share this good news with you, I also wanted to emphasise how important it is that you grab every opportunity that is thrown your way because trust me, later on you might regret not taking it.

So, if you know that your school has something similar to this eg. school council, form representatives etc then get involved!

You won't regret it.

Have a wonderful day/evening.

About Me

My name is Nadia, I'm 17 years old and I'm a creative writer and an enthusiast on all things fashion/beauty and books!

I have always been interested in fashion and beauty - I've always tried to keep up with the trend via Bloglovin' and Youtube- but it was only this summer that I decided to write about my own life and what I love about beauty and fashion.

I feel like I am at my best when I am sitting at my laptop and just writing for the fun of it. Also, the idea of being able to communicate with people all over the world sends tingles all over my body. It's pretty darn cool!

I hope you enjoy my blog and learn things along the way :)

Winter approaches!

Hello everyone!

That time of year is approaching us once more. Yes, those dark mornings and freezing cold floorboards  are we will experience soon. I don't know about you but I am finding it harder and harder to wake up in the mornings - my bed is so warm and snuggly.

Anyway, what with the weather becoming considerably more chilly, I thought I would dig up my old hoodies and jumpers from a few years ago. Fortunately, I haven't gained or lost an extreme amount of weight so I'm good!

I find that hoodies are probably the best things to just throw on if you're feeling a bit cold and what I've started to do is even layer it with my parka.

You can buy these from pretty much anywhere but I tend to buy mine from H&M because I like the wide range of colours that they do.

At present, I would probably say I have about seven from a trusty black one to a vibrant teal one.

I would highly recommend these because they can give your outfits a little bit of oomph and look comfortable all at the same time. Killing two birds with one stone!

I also tend to throw on a few of my brothers ones as well. There's just something about oversized mens clothes that are just perfect for this time of year!

Anyway, let me know what items of clothing you've found yourself plonking out of your drawers recently and I hope you have a nice day/evening.

Byeee :)

PS: If you want to purchase a hoodie then you can buy it from here.

Time for a new schedule!

Hi guys,

So it's been a while since I posted something last hasn't it?

I apologise profusely for that. I swear college will be the death of me.

Anyway, what with Christmas coming up and New Year's which will follow soon after that, I thought I would skip forward a few months and make a new years resolution....in October. (It's not really a new years resolution then is it? Lets call it a new months resolution for the sake of my sanity)

But yes, you heard me. You're not going crazy.

I've thought about this blog quite a lot this past month and have put it off for a while but now that I have kind of settled into my second year of college, I think its time I set apart a day or two in my hectic life and dedicate it to you guys.

(This is where you cheer loudly at your computer screen)

So, I have decided that for now I will put up a new blogpost every Friday. Hopefully, by mid November I will have more inspiration and ideas on what to post for you.

BUT: I'm always open to recommendations or requests so if there is something that you really want me to review or shed some light on, then please feel free to let me know via any social networking site. (I sound like a commercial lol)

Also, I feel like this blog is visually quite poor so if anyone of you are whizzes on the complicated subject that is Blogger then again, let me know :)

Hope you're having a wonderful day/evening and if there are any Muslims reading this now, Eid Mubarak!

REVIEW: Eyelure Naturalites 155

Hi all,

So if you had read my previous post you'd know that recently I purchased a pair of false eyelashes for Eid.

The eyelashes themselves are very natural looking, which is what I wanted, because I wanted to look very simple this Eid. I felt that the pair that I chose did this really well.

The price is also fine. It retails between 5 to 6 pounds and can be found in most drug stores like Boots and Superdrug. With the eyelashes comes a tube of eyelash glue and a set of instructions leaflet; there are also pictures at the back to help you as well. I'm not going to lie, I didn't read the leaflet at all. (I've watched way too many youtube tutorials on how to apply false eyelashes to last me a lifetime you see!)

I had to use some scissors to cut a little bit off as it was too long for my eyes and once I had done this, it didn't look too bad.

However, one thing that was a little bit disappointing was the glue that was attached to it. It's great for if you are only looking to apply false eyelashes for a few hours at most, but for a whole day it's not that great. The glue tends to dry out which means that if you are on the go (as I was) then you would have to carry it around with you to make sure that the corners were properly attached.

Aside from that, I found that when I used my Maybelline Falsies flared mascara, my eyelashes looked really good but not too over the top. The product claimed to be ultra lightweight, which when I first read it, I thought they were lying but I can put my hand up and say, they really were lightweight. Sometimes during the day, I completely forgot that I was wearing them!

Overall, I would say that if you are looking for a pair of natural eyelashes that aren't too much of a fuss and are a reasonable price, make sure you look into Eyelure ones. Celebrities have often used lashes from this particular company and I can see why.

I actually really liked wearing false eyelashes this year and I may, dare I say it, start wearing them more often.

I hope this has given you a true picture of what eyelure eyelashes are like and I really hope you check them out. They're great!

Have a nice day.

Mini Eid Haul!

Hello there,

So Eid is literally round the corner. I've heard lots of rumours that it might be tomorrow but something tells me it won't be. Anyway, I just thought that I'd share with you all some of the beauty products that I've bought to do my makeup this year.

1) Real Techniques Eyes Starter Set (£21.99)

I'm really excited to use this set because I've heard so much about it. I guess because I've watched Pixiwoo on Youtube for so long that I couldn't not purchase these brushes. The eyes starter kit comes with five brushes: the base shadow brush, the deluxe crease brush, the accent brush, pixel point eyeliner brush and a brow brush.  I guess these are the worth the price because even after Eid, I know that I will use them all the time. They are unbelievably soft and even though these brushes are directed towards being used in certain parts of the face for certain jobs, I like that you can switch it up a little bit and use the same brush for so many jobs. I can't wait to use these!

2) MUA Mosaic Blush in English Rose (£2.50)

I've been watching Becca (voussontbeauetbelle) on Youtube for a few months now and she always uses this product on her cheeks. It looks amazing on her and that's why I decided to buy it. It has a lot of different blushes all pieced together to create one big blush. At first, when I applied it on my cheeks I found that it had a little pinky purply tinge to it but when your face catches the light, it looks really nice. I guess this can be used as a blusher everyday or it can be used on the apples of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose as a highlighter. Even if your makeup is simple, you can still get a radiant shine from a product like this so I think it's great so far and I'm looking forward to using it more.

3) Eyelure Naturalites 155 (£5.35)

I've decided, this year for Eid, I'm going to take a plunge and do something I've never done before. Yes, wear fake eyelashes. Normally, the thought of something against my eye horrifies me but this year I've decided to go for it. As you might know my real eyelashes are, to be honest, not that great so that is why I decided to purchase these particular eyelashes. They claim to be ultra lightweight and have a natural texture so I am looking forward to wearing these. I hope they live up to their expectations!

That's my mini haul and I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know what makeup products you use on special occasions.

Have a nice day.

My Favourite Lip Products :)

Hello there,

With the last few fasts taking place and Eid approaching fast, I thought I would tell you how I tend to do my makeup. I think I like to keep my eyes really simple - I'm no expert at eyeshadow blending - but I do like to sport a bright lip a lot of the time. Also, I find that by adding colour to my lips, I look more made up than I actually am.

Below are some of the lip products that I am loving at the moment.

1) Barry M Lip-Paint in 153/308
This lipstick has been in my makeup bag for a few years now and I never get tired of using it. It's a coral pink and it glides very smoothly onto the lips. I love using Barry M lipsticks on a daily basis because they are very pigmented and it means that I don't need to worry about touching up during the day.

This particular range comes in 22 different shades from a nude to a bright red or pink. This is definitely one of my favourite lipsticks because it's a great bold colour and I find that it suits my skin tone very well. This retails at £4.49 from the Barry M website but can also be found in drug stores like Superdrug or Boots.

2) Maybelline Colour Sensational - 540/ Hollywood Red

When I first read the label at the bottom of this lipstick, I'm not going to lie - I was a little bit apprehensive. As much as I love bold colours, I don't think I could pull off wearing red all the time. The word 'Hollywood' doesn't help matters either because I don't know about you but I think of Anne Hathaway on the red carpet with her shining white teeth and trademark lipstick. However, when I looked at the samples, I was shocked to see that it wasn't a bright red but it had undertones of purple making it more muted than your average lipstick.

The next thing that I noticed was the smell - yes I know how odd that sounds, I promise I don't go sniffing every lipstick I buy - but this was smelt quite sweet. I bought it on impulse and have worn it many times. It has quite a creamy formula which makes it glide onto the lips, it is very pigmented and because of the undertones present, it makes my teeth whiter than unusual. This is great if you want to switch up your normal red lipstick for something more muted but still has impressive results. This retails at £7.19 in Drug stores like Superdrug and Boots and there are also a whopping 68 shades so there should be something for everyone.

3) Dior Addict Extreme 536 Lucky

I was given a sample of this lipstick when I purchased a foundation from the Dior counter in West Thurrock. This is a gorgeous red-pink which is just the perfect as it isn't too bright but then it isn't a dark red either. I find that the quality of this lipstick is much better than the previous two as it feels like it is moisturising the lips as well as adding a tint to it.

This is a high end product so it is a lot more expensive than the previous two; it retails at £24.00 from House of Fraser. I ended up finishing my sample really quickly and just had to replace it for the full size. The packaging is great because its  bigger than your average lipstick. It is black with the iconic Dior engraved onto the side which gives it a very timeless yet classy feel. The Addict Extreme range is fortunate now part of the permanent line of lipsticks so do check them out if you get the chance. They are just lovely!

4) Carmex in Cherry

This is one of the products that I am forever having to replace because I use it all the time. I use this at night before I go to sleep because I like my lips to be moisturised. Carmex is designed to moisturise dry or chapped lips and it has SPF 15 so it even protects you from the sun. Amazing! I find that the tingling sensation of the balm relaxes my lips and in the morning, it leaves them feeling nice and smooth. There are now many different types of flavours like Strawberry and Pomegranate but I personally prefer cherry  because it's one of my favourite fruits and it smells divine.

It also comes in a range of different forms from tubes to lip balms. There is something that caters to nearly every persons needs and this is one of the lip products that I absolutely love and don't think I'll ever stop using, because it's just that good. This retails at £2.69 in drug stores like Boots or Superdrug so again, do check it out if you're like me and can't help treating your lips all the time.

5) Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm
Let me just start by saying that this smells ah-mazing! Seriously, I will never get sick of it. That being said, this lip balm also has a lot of benefits. For example, it has SPF 15 so it protects your lips from the sun. It also  has vitamin E inside it so you can check that off your list too. It is also wacky in the design aspect too - A lot of the time, you would find lip balms to be a circle and in a tube right?

But, this one is oval. Yes, oval! I like it because it's different so really, it's the best of both worlds. You have a product that does what it says on the tin and smells delicious. As well as that, it is also surprisingly cheap - £1.89 in Superdrug- so next time you go to Superdrug, definitely go and check it out!

And there you have it, some of my favourite lip products. I hope this has given you an insight into what kind of a person I am and I hope I have influenced some of you to go and check some of these products out!

Have a nice day.

REVIEW: Dior Skin Forever Foundation :)

Hi guys,

I have a confession to make: I only started wearing foundation about two or three years ago. Shocking right?!

I don't know why I never experimented during my secondary school years - probably because I spend all my money on sweets rather than cosmetics. Looking back, I probably should have invested in at least one foundation which helped to cover all the scars from my acne but I didn't think about that too much. Instead, I bought little chapsticks from the nearby chemists which came in a wide array of scents like lemon, watermelon and mint -they were my favourite as a kid :)

Anyway, I finally plucked up the courage to go to a cosmetic stand in House of Fraser one day whilst I was shopping in West Thurrock. You can probably imagine me looking at every possible makeup item on show and thinking "What does this do? Where does that go?"

I dragged my sister with me because she also has never worn foundation and I figured that it was time to finally buy it and use it for special occasions like Eid or upcoming weddings. The reason why we didn't go to a drug store or high street shop like Superdrug or Boots was because we didn't really know what products would be good for our skin, which ones are actually good etc so we thought we'd use the help of one of the makeup specialist.

A very lovely woman who worked in the Dior counter helped us both get matched up to the desired foundation and it was because of her passion and genuine love for the products that made the experience very lovely and it gave me an insight as to what its like to be interested in makeup and all things beauty.

This is the first ever foundation that I bought and it is the one that I will be reviewing for you all.

First of all, the packaging is very sophisticated. It comes in a rectangular bottle which isn't very exciting because after all, it is a foundation but the contrast between the glass and blue lid with the Dior engraving really reminds you that this is a high end product.

I am the shade 031 (sable/sand) and it retails in House of Fraser at £32.00 for 30ml. It comes in a range of 11 shades so hopefully there should be something for everyone regardless of your skin tone.  I would say that this foundation is medium coverage but it's buildable. One thing that you might find odd is that I always smell the foundation because if it smells awful I don't think I'd buy it but when I put this on, I actually really liked the smell. It's not overpowering and it makes you feel quite fresh.

This is one of those foundations which does justice to the statement 'your skin but better'. It glides onto the skin very easily leaving a dewy and natural finish. I find that if you prep your skin very well with a serum or moisturiser before applying, it can make your skin look and feel absolutely amazing.

This also lasts an incredibly long time. If you apply it in the morning, it tends to stay for an average of 12+ hours so it's very good if you are the kind of person who doesn't like to touch up their makeup every hour. I can honestly say that this is great for me because the pigmentation really allows all my imperfections to be covered up but it doesn't feel cakey at all.

I hope that you have enjoyed this review and I hope I have persuaded you to pop to your nearest Dior counter to get matched today.

PS: If you ever shop in House of Fraser, expect lots of amazing samples being slipped into your bag at the till. If that's not a good reason to buy this product then nothing is! (heehee)

Have a nice day

My Favourite Perfumes!

Hello there,

I was looking through my drawer and I found some of the perfumes that I use all the time so I thought I'd tell you about them. I honestly like perfumes an awful lot and I am always looking at new ones in shops and just really driving my sister insane.

Over the years, I think that the perfumes that I often picked used to fade really quickly and that is a factor that I always look into when buying a new one. I also like sweet or floral perfumes rather than fruity however there are a few odd ones that I do like - e.g. Ralph Lauren Number 2 for women but it is really rare.
White Musk from The Body Shop
One of my absolute favourite perfumes that I like to wear on a regular basis is White Musk from The Body Shop. This retails at £10.00 for 30ml and £15.00 for 60ml and I can honestly say that if I had to purchase one perfume for the rest of my life, it would probably be this one. It is quite light however the vanilla and musk really make it quite sweet, which I think is perfect to wear everyday. It is also a lot cheaper than other  perfumes and the 30ml itself lasts a very long time. I've had mine for over a year now and there's still a little bit left. So yes, that is definitely my favourite.
Princess by Vera Wang
Another favourite of mine is Princess by Vera Wang. The bottle itself is very cute - the perfume bottle is heart shaped with a crown for a lid. This has extracts of vanilla, similarly to the White Musk, which should be quite strong however there are also notes of waterlily which helps to simmer it down a little. The scent is both floral and sweet but definitely bordering more closer to floral. This retails at £33.50 for 30ml and £44.50 for 50ml so it is quite expensive but honestly, two squirts of this perfume will last nearly the whole day so it is worth the price. I would highly recommend checking this out the next time you are at a perfume store because it is seriously amazing.
Lady Million by Paco Rabanne
Another perfume that I love is Lady Million by Paco Rabanne. This has a lot of floral notes in it like Orange flower and Arabian Jasmine but the overall feel that it gives you is quite glamorous yet classy and sexy. It is quite strange but I absolutely love it as it is unlike any of the other perfumes that I have talked about previously. The bottle is amazing - it is shaped like a diamond and has a gold plated lid which makes it look really expensive and draws your eye to it. It is also great if you want to carry it around with you because it is quite smooth and doesn't have any extra detailing like Vera Wang's Lovestruck. This perfume retails at £35.50 for 30ml and £44.50 for 50ml which is similar to Princess by Vera Wang. It lasts absolutely ages- I've had this one over six months now and I still have half of it left so definitely go and check that out.
Alien by Thierry Mugler
One last perfume that I absolutely LOVE is Alien by Thierry Mugler. Because mine is completely finished, I don't have a picture of it but the bottle is extraordinary - to me, it looks like a creature but its a really beautiful bottle and it definitely grabs your attention. This again has hints of jasmine but it has wood and white amber which is quite an odd mix but it works really well leaving a soft yet distinctive scent behind. The best thing about this perfume is that it lasts longer than any of the perfumes above - if you spray in the morning, it will still smell the following day or late into the night. This retails at £43.50 for 30ml and £66.50 for 50ml. This is a lot more expensive than the others but selected stores such as The Perfume Shop allow you to refill the perfume only after it is finished rather than buying another bottle with new perfume inside it. I highly highly recommend this and I absolutely love it.

I hope this has given you an insight into some of the perfumes that I love and I hope I have persuaded you to check some of them out.

Have a nice day.

REVIEW: Maybelline The Falsies Flared Volume Express Mascara

Hey guys,

So I thought I'd do a review today of Maybelline The Falsies Flared Volume Express Mascara. I've always seen this Superdrug or Boots and always picked it up, pondered for a few seconds and then put it back because I was fine with my Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara. However, because this is nearly finishing I thought that there wasn't a better opportunity to finally test out one of the most raved about products this year!

First of all, The packaging is really nice. It is purple (one of my favourite colours) so that's a definite bonus for me personally. The bottle is quite curved which is different but funnily enough, I like it. One thing that is a little bit odd is that it is thicker than your average mascara but I know that Maybelline like to make most of their mascaras chunky looking so I don't really have a big problem with it.

When I applied it the first time, I found that it helped to lengthen each lash with just the right amount of product without clumping it. Also, because it doesn't clump together it helps to give the impression of false lashes. But, what I discovered after that coat had dried was that it is very hard to volumise your lashes without making them look like spiders. I guess with more practice, it may get better but for now, I'm dissapointed in that.

Another thing is that there are two sides to the brush - hence the reason why its flared- one side is curved and the other is straight which might confuse you a little bit. It confused me at the beginning because I didn't read the instructions properly and whacked it on like any other mascara (heehee) but then I actually read it and used the two sides of the brushes as best as I could but again, i didn't understand the point of it because it didn't really help much.

When you apply the mascara, it doesn't heaps and heaps of product onto your face which I like and overall it can help to lift your face. It honestly is one of those mascaras that you can wear by itself and leave the house because it really opens up your eyes more.

If you have eyelashes that belong to a five year old, like mine, then it would help if you curl them with an eyelash curler before applying the mascara. You can also  put two coats of the mascara on and not curl your eyelashes at all. It is completely up to you.

In a sense, I do understand why youtubers and bloggers rave about this product quite a lot because it does make you feel a little bit more jazzy and perfect when you haven't really done much. It does give the impression of a false eyelash because it does lengthen each eyelash with just enough product.

I would probably give this mascara an 8/10 because it does lift and curl my lashes a lot more than the previous mascaras I have used but it can clump your eyelashes if you use too much product which leaves behind spidery eyelashes which is not a good look.

I can definitely see myself using one coat of this mascara on the curved end to help lengthen my lashes on a daily basis. I hope you enjoyed this review and let me know your thoughts.

Have a nice day.

My Skincare Routine

One of the things I've seen littered all over the web and Youtube are skincare routines and I thought I would jump onto the bandwagon and tell you which products I use daily too.

First of all, I'd just like to point that even if these products may have worked for me, make sure you look at whether or not they would be suited to your skin type too.

I would describe my skin type as normal to combination - again, I am not completely sure as I have not had a skincare professional tell me at any point in my life what skin type I am. This is just me taking an intellectual guess - I mean, what harm can it do?

As a teenager, I had relatively good skin but it wasn't perfect. My pores were quite big and if I had got any spots, it would scar my skin very badly. And yes, unfortunately I am one of those people who can't resist squeezing my spots. A nice mental image for you there (ha!)

Because I am also quite lazy, I like to keep my skincare routine very simple because I can't be bothered to lather on one product after another every morning and night. Over the past few months, I have found one brand that has really helped with the scarring on my face and the minimisation of pores and this is the simple range. Simple is a skincare range which is quite cheap, can be found in most supermarkets or pharmacies and uses multi-vitamins and skin loving ingredients to make skin feel thoroughly cleansed and moisturised.

If you do nothing for your skin, just exfoliate, tone and moisturise. I actually read that quote on the Liz Earle website a few months ago and I use this principle pretty much everyday and that is why the basis of my skincare routine lies on two products and these are the Simple Kind to Skin Daily Facial Wash and the Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner. I've found that these two products are very gentle, highly moisturising and have helped to keep my skin feeling soft and refreshed during the day.

You must be thinking 'So what about the moisturiser?'

Well, that depends on what time of day it is. If I have just woken up, I tend to go for the Simple Kind to Skin Light Moisturiser. On the bottle, it claims to work for 12 hours and I believe that it lives up to such a bold statement, especially in summer. It is also easy to apply and a small pea of product can be used on your entire face. This leaves my skin feeling so soft!

However, if I am just about to go to sleep, I tend  to reach for my Silkia Re Gen Cream. I bought this from Home Bargains for £3.99 and it comes in a 125ml tub which lasts you literally forever. This has similar ingredients to those found in Bio Oil however I do not like putting oil on my skin as it makes me feel greasy so this is a nice alternative and is a fraction of the price of Bio Oil. It has the powers to lighten skintone, minimise the appearances of scars on the face and can help with blemishes. If you choose to wear this in the morning, it also acts as a great foundation before applying foundation or concealer as it leaves your skin smooth and prepped. I can safely say that this is one of the best creams that I have come across so far as it has really helped with scarring from acne across my cheeks and forehead.

I hope this helps those that are thinking about their own skin routine and what products you can use which would be suitable for your skin. Just remember that not all products work for every skin type but try and see which ones work for you.

Good luck!

The beauty of coloured jeans

It's that time of year again when the sun is shining, the days are longer and everyone's happy.
Yes, summer has finally arrived in London. It's long overdue but better late than never is what  I say.

The one thing I really like about summer is that you can dig up long lost treasures from the back of your wardrobe. Items of clothing that you may have forgotten about because of the horrendous weather lately. (Rain in the middle of June - it's madness, I tell you. Madness!)

I dug up a few pairs of skinny jeans that I had completely avoided and I'm happy to say that I am using them a lot more now. There are always bright neon pants or trousers being sold in high street shops such as Topshop or New Look so if you want to feel dressed up when really you've just chucked a random top on, I suggest you check them out.

Personally, I don't have an orange or yellow skinny jean but I have my small stack of coloured ones that I can get away with wearing on a day to day basis without looking too bright!

And if you are quite self-conscious, not to worry! You can always ease yourself into wearing bright colours or add a statement necklace to a plain t shirt and work your way up from accessories to scarves and before you know it, you'll have the confidence to sport a lime green cardigan perhaps.

Just remember that a pop of colour, even in accessories, found in any outfit can really lift it and make you feel more dressed up.
Let me know what items of clothing you've found lying at the back of your wardrobe and I hope you have a nice day.
